Trinity Wins Top Performing Arts Award
Last Monday night I had the pleasure of attending the culminating Concert of the Performing Arts Festival for Catholic schools. Sixteen items were performed at the Perth Concert Hall and five of those items involved boys from Trinity – which is a fantastic achievement. The talent of the boys on display was incredible ranging from our B.I.G performers, Sacred Choral and the Trinity/Mercedes Wind Orchestra. Justin Leong displayed his dazzling talent with a solo violin performance and Eugene Marshall and Perry Joyce played a wonderful piano duet.
At the end of the night, Trinity was presented with the Zenith Secondary Schools Award for Excellence in Performance and Participation in the Spirit of the Performing Arts Festival (Trinity was also awarded 33 Honour Certificates and 35 Merit Certificates). This is the third occasion since 1990 that we have won the award.
Congratulations to all the boys who have performed over the past 5 weeks and to their wonderful teachers led by Dr. Braham, Ms. Bott and Mrs. Laing.
In the past week, Catholic schools throughout W.A have been celebrating Catholic Education Week. From its humble origins of 30 students in the first class in 1843, our system has grown to provide a Catholic Education for over 67 000 students in 158 schools. We are blessed to be part of one of the outstanding schools within the system.
