Reflections

Kairos, or "the Lord's time", has been the highlight of my Trinity schooling life to date. It gave us boys a greater appreciation of our faith, our friends, our family, ourselves and each other. Despite running for only four days, the experience taught us to be open and true to one another, we leamt how to respect one another but still how to have an awesome time.

Whether it be during our 'healthy' dinners, the table tennis challenges, or getting 'seedy' up until 3:00am each night, we all participated as one and were no longer affected by where we sat socially in our everyday lives. Every boy was able to be serious and respectful during deep discussions which effectively gave us all an insight into each other’s lives and brought us much closer as a year group.

We had many fun times whether it be jumping off sand dunes or watching others run off, a good three meters in the air, to diving for footys in the lake, we all participated as one, which made the experience so cherished and memorable.

Kairos is one of the greatest things about Trinity and I strongly suggest if you have the opportunity to go on it, take it!

It was my privilege to have been part of the Kairos #13 experience. The whole retreat was thought provoking, insightful and enjoyable for both the Year Twelve participants and myself.

I was struck by the willingness of the boys to accept and participate in the whole experience. The whole retreat flowed like a running stream. The words of wisdom from the student leaders, Jamie Gotti, Tom Gryta, Matthew Ferrinda and Lee Thorburn, as well as my fellow teachers were inspiring.

One cannot go past the food and the scenery of the Campsite at Moore River. Each of the Boys enjoyed the recreation time playing basketball, table tennis and the beach.

I am sure that each and every “Kairotian” would agree and value the Kairos experience as much as I have, It was a spiritual Journey that will continue beyond the special time that was shared, and will be remembered for a lifetime!
