Trinity 1st V Basketball has come a long way since last year. Towards the end of this season with a comfortable win over Wesley and outstanding performances from the boys who stepped up on the day, we had our sites set on moving through Hale comfortably. However we knew this wouldn't be an easy task as we lost to them last year by 1 point which finished our chances to win the Blackwood Cup. We had all the motivation in the world to win this game, playing a full four quarters of basketball the Trinity way, both players and spectators were engaged and the boys did not disappoint. Due to injury I had to watch from the sidelines and this was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but knowing my brothers were out there giving it their all gave me one of the greatest feelings I have ever had in my time at Trinity. At the end of the final game Trinity came out on top. Winning in double figures was a great way to finish the season and to bring the Blackwood Cup home to where it belongs.
I would like to commend our younger players that stepped up this season and played a vital part in the team success. This can only mean a promising future for Trinity Basketball and I wish them all the best for the coming years. I would also like to commend our coach Mr Osnain, it gave me great pleasure to be part of his last season as coach. He is one of the most passionate coaches I have ever come across and the team has learnt a lot from him.
