From the Principal 


I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all families and members of the Trinity College community as we commence the 2019 academic year. I offer my prayerful best wishes for a happy, safe and positive year ahead. A special welcome is extended to those students and families who are new to our College. I trust your relationship as part of our community will be an enjoyable and productive one.

On a personal note, I would like to thank the many members of the College community who have offered me such a warm welcome as I commence my role as Principal this year. I have been overwhelmed and humbled by the prayers, encouragement, good wishes and messages of support from staff, parents and students. I am most grateful for such a positive and sincere welcome and feel it reflects the sense of community and genuine care that exists at Trinity College.

As is normally the case at the start of any school year, we welcome the following new members of staff and wish them well as they commence at our College:

It has certainly been a very busy holiday period with a great deal of maintenance and capital improvements being achieved. This has included ongoing work in the refurbishment of the College Chapel, establishing another classroom in the Junior School, significant electrical and network upgrades and scheduled cleaning and painting services. We also return to freshly prepared school grounds and ovals. Further to this, an enormous amount of administrative updates and financial tasks have been processed in preparation for the school year commencing.

I would like to acknowledge the work of Michael Burgess (Bursar), Ross Beatson (Buildings and Services Manager) and Dayne Whalan (Grounds Manager), and their respective teams, for their dedication and hard work over the past few weeks. Such capital development and school improvement projects can only be achieved through the ongoing support of the College community and I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank those many families who have readily agreed to commit to our Building Fund Appeal.


Next Friday, 8 February, our College community will gather in the Sports Centre at 8:40am to celebrate the Mass of the Holy Spirit. This is our formal celebration of the commencement of a new school year and parents and families are warmly invited to attend this Eucharistic celebration. This is a wonderful opportunity to join together as a celebratory community in order to acknowledge and celebrate God’s active presence in our lives and together offer our prayers for a successful year. I look forward to meeting many more parents as part of this Mass.

Finally, on behalf of the College Staff, I am very much looking forward to formally welcoming the students next week as they commence the academic year. I wish them all of God’s blessings as they strive to be the best they can be. We all look forward to a positive and successful 2019.

Upcoming Events


The Parent Council warmly invites all parents to the 2019 Welcome Sundowner, scheduled to run from 6pm–9pm on Friday, 22 February. It will be held in McCabe Court, near the rowing shed, with beautiful riverside views. The cost is $25 per person and this covers lovely cocktail food. You are asked to bring your own beverages. College News


Students in Years 4–7, 11 and 12 start on Monday, 4 February and Years 8–10 on Tuesday, 5 February. Term 1 concludes on Friday, 12 April.

The College Reception operating hours are 8:00am–4:30pm during the school term. 


All students are required to wear Summer Uniform in Term 1. The Uniform Shop is located next to the Rowing Shed and the river. The closest entry is from Nelson Crescent. The shop is open for trading at the following times during the School Term. School Holiday opening hours are published in the Weekly Newsletter prior to the holidays.

The Uniform Shop Trading Hours for the start of the year are as follows:

Term 1 – Week 1 Trading Hours:

  • Tuesday, 5 February: 7:30am–4:30pm
  • Wednesday, 6 February: 7:30am–1:30pm
  • Thursday, 7 February: 7:30am–1:30pm
  • Friday, 8 February: 7:30am–1:30pm

Week 2 – Return to Normal Term-Time Trading Hours:

  • Tuesday: 7:30am–4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:30am–1:30pm

PLEASE NOTE: The correct Trinity College uniform must be worn. Please be careful when buying second-hand uniforms from other sources to ensure that these are in the current style. If you would like to know more about the correct Trinity College uniform, please click on the Online Store link at the bottom of the Uniform Shop page of our website, which shows photos of each uniform item. Alternatively, the Uniform Shop staff would be happy to assist you with any questions you may have. If you would like to sell your good quality, second-hand uniforms to the Uniform Shop, you are most welcome to drop them in to be reviewed.

The Trinity College Canteen is 'cashless' as of Term 1, 2019. Please ensure that your son's student card is loaded with funds at least three days before being used at the Canteen. For more information, including how to load funds onto the student card, please visit the Canteen page of the website, located under Current Students (top left), or simply click hereNew students will be receiving their student cards (SmartRider) on the first day of school. 


The College and Parent Council invite the TC community to participate in the 2019 Tuition Fee Raffle. The Raffle begins on Tuesday, 12 February at 12:00pm AWST.

Final ticket sales will close on Friday, 5 April 2019 at 11:59pm AWST (unless sold out prior to this time). The Draw will be held at Trinity College on Monday, 8 April 2019 at 12:00pm. 

Tickets are $50 and there is a limited amount of tickets. All proceeds will be donated towards the Trinity Chapel restoration.

School Fee statements were emailed on Thursday, 31 January. Payment forms are due to be returned by Friday, 8 February. If you have not received your fee statement, please email to request a copy. A 2% discount applies to fees paid in full by 22 February 2019.


The State Government, through the Department of Education, provides financial support to eligible parents through the Secondary Assistance Scheme. Eligible parents/guardians are those with students enrolled in Years 7 to 12 in the year 2019 studying a full-time Secondary course at a Western Australian non-government school.

The Secondary Assistance Scheme consists of two allowances:
1. $235 education program allowance (payment is made to the school); and
2. $115 clothing allowance (payment made to the parent/guardian)

There some exceptions that can be reviewed at the time of application. Please enquire at Reception for application forms, which are due back to Reception by 29 March 2019.

  • TC Newsletter – this is an electronic publication, distributed by email weekly on Fridays during school term
  • Trinity News magazine – this is an electronic publication distributed three times per year
  • Trinity College Annual – this publication provides an annual summary of the College 
  • Trinity College website – the website contains a wide range of information about the College, publications, news, events and the online store. The Current Students section of the website contains all kinds of useful information for students and families. The website also includes the Parent Calendar
